Hi! I am Bouchra Tawil
A self-taught product designer from Beirut, Lebanon.
I am a design manager, located in Nice, France. I lead CX initiatives based on human-centred design and design thinking methodologies. Practical knowledge of the growth life cycle of several business sectors across various regions, from the US to the GCC market. I enjoy simplifying complex problems in my everyday work life! The more challenging the client or requirements are, the more invested I become!
👩🏻🍳 Cooking design workshops while mentoring junior designers and colleagues
🕸️ Implement innovative DesignOps solutions for various business sectors
🎖️ Excels in rethinking and redesigning strategic interactive products for clients across various regions
Throughout my career so far, I have had the chance to work on rewarding projects for both the US and GCC markets spanning multiple industries, such as the energy sector, fintech (credit cards applications), the stock market, medical insurance, vehicle charging and scooter rental in the transportation sector, e-learning platforms and nurseries applications, as well as governmental e-services projects in Qatar and KSA.
Above all comes the QSR project for restaurant management, targeted for the American market, where I contributed to shaping cross-functional applications that are now being adopted by major restaurants in the US. It's an award-winning platform by Subway, with thousands of happy franchisees.
Back in 2013, I graduated as a Graphic Designer and worked in the sector for about a year while finishing my master's degree in visual communication. It was at this point that I began pursuing my increasing interest in the digital environment and the user experience design that lies behind it.
After finishing my master's degree, I made the pivotal choice of directly joining CME Offshore in their Beirut office, where I learned and practiced all the design stages from understanding and exploring user requirements, to the ideation phase where we’d question workflows and transition them into the product, defining the UI - creating guidelines a design system to generating pixel-perfect prototypes. It was amazing to be able not only to design a product almost from scratch, but to also build a design function.
After 7 years with CME, I transferred my knowledge and experience to Netways where I was trusted to build, create and direct my own team for the past year and a half. Netways is a Microsoft partner in the GCC and has won the Inner Circle award multiple times Including once again last year!
My Journey at Netways has been a challenging voyage where I learn something new every day about how to help grow junior designers into seniors, select the right candidates, and direct the course of the entire team. Furthermore, I have worked remotely with designers from multiple countries and cultures such as Lebanon, Jordan, and Egypt while our clients are located in Emirates, Qatar, and KSA which brings its own unique set of challenges.
Aside from my work, and during the long Covid lockdown, I joined Creo Incubator, which is aimed at preparing and launching new businesses and tried to build my own idea “Qaalat” to help Arab women express themselves in solidarity groups and access affordable online coaching and counseling. This Incubator experience motivated me to start my Executive MBA journey, at IAE Nice Université Côte D’Azur, which I have since completed, and am now pursuing a DBA at the same university. My research is focused on consumer behavior and perception in the age of Extended Reality and 3D interfaces.
